The creator of The Story Train is Sharen Cacciatore. She is also the owner and director of The Story Train Literacy Center.
Mrs. Cacciatore earned her master's degree in education, specializing in Language and Literacy, at Harvard's Graduate School of Education in Cambridge, MA. June 2000
She earned her bachelor's degree in Humanities, Magna Cum Laude from Stonehill College in Easton, MA. May 1999
Phi Delta Kappa, Harvard Chapter, 2000
National Honor Society - Alpha Sigma Lambda. 1999
National Honor Society of Religious Studies in Theology - Theta Alpha Kappa. 1998
(Besides all that education stuff, Mrs. Cacciatore loves writing, reading, and working with students at her literacy center in Middleboro, MA.)

The Story Train Literacy Center is located at 353 West Grove Street, Route. 28, in Middleboro, about 1 mile from the Middleboro rotary on Route. 28 south.

The following services are offered continually throughout the year:
1) Evaluation and assessment
It is recomended that all new students be evaluated through a series of comprehensive assessments to determine literacy strengths and weaknesses, reading level, and comprehension level. The results of the evaluation are used to determine the individualized plan of instruction.
2) Private tutoring
Instruction is usually based on results of the assessment. Private sessions are available for children or adults.
3) Homework support available in all academic areas
4) College writing including essay writing for college applications
5) FREE Literacy consultations
6) Web site for publishing student stories

Early intervention is key to academic success,
Students who enter kindergarten having mastered their alphabet and sounds and with a working knowledge of literacy come equipped with the skills they need for academic success.
