The Original TV Show
The Story Train began in classrooms — guiding students through every step of the writing process. The cable television program was the grand finale: Step 5, Publishing. Children who had brainstormed, written their rough draft/sloppy copy, revised, and edited their stories got to read them aloud on live cable TV for the whole community to see. That moment of real-world publishing transformed how students felt about writing.
